Studio Ehta is a Finnish ceramics studio by Jenni Nuojua based on the essence of “ehta”, a word in Finnish meaning real, genuine and pure.

The flowing appearance and the tangible texture of the handmade ceramics is formed intuitively along the process of working with clay. Organic shapes with repetitive carved surface create the core characteristics of the unique ceramic reliefs, vases and sculptures.

About

Jenni Nuojua (b. 1983) is a ceramic artist based in Helsinki, Finland. She is an architect by training and has worked passionately with clay since 2018. In 2022 she began studying reliefs with a contour-like finish and finds that as an endlessly inspiring way of expressing herself and looking for some soothing beauty. Working as an architect for 15 years in urban planning and housing design has given her a solid understanding for the balance of art, esthetics, technique and resilience in a process. She enjoys the slow meditative method of coiling and carving clay by hand and observing the play of light on the finished piece.
